Law enforcers convicted in Tskaev’s case request court to acquit them

Ten former policemen, convicted in a case on death of Vladimir Tskaev, a resident of North Ossetia, after interrogation at a police station, requested to acquit them.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that in August, Zemfira Tskaeva, a widow of Vladimir Tskaev, filed appeals against the sentences of the former policemen and requested to toughen their punishment. The convicts also lodged complaints. They insist on their acquittal.

On July 28, the court sentenced the policemen charged in the case on Vladimir Tskaev’s death to 2-10.5 years of imprisonment. All convicts pleaded not guilty. The law enforcers failed to hush up the case on Vladimir Tskaev’s death, and the court pronounced the real terms of imprisonment due to a wide public outcry, journalists noted.

Let us remind you that the investigation into the case on Vladimir Tskaev’s death lasted more than two years. According to Zemfira Tskaeva, the defence of the defendants was delaying the trial in every possible way: out of 143 court hearings that were to take place, 73 were postponed.
