Daudov accuses Ingush Council of Teips of evading a meeting at border

On November 21, the Chechen delegation arrived on the bank of the Fortanga River to resolve with the Ingush Council of Teips the issue concerning the belonging of the border lands in accordance with Sharia, but did not meet opponents, says Magomed Daudov, the speaker of the Chechen parliament.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on November 19, the Ingush Council of Teips posted an appeal in response to the harsh statements of Magomed Daudov addressed to Ingush elders. The World Congress of the Ingush People created a commission, and the Ingush side wanted the same commission to be created by the Chechen side, “so they could sit down and come to an agreement, and if they failed, then the decision should be based on Sharia.”

On November 13, Ramzan Kadyrov stated that he could take part of its lands away from Ingushetia. "The lands that [the first president of the self-proclaimed Chechen Republic of Ichkeria Djokhar] Dudaev gave away to them (to Ingushetia) for the temporary use and illegally – I can take them back," the head of Chechnya has stated, in particular. On November 18, Magomed Daudov, the Speaker of the Chechen Parliament, accused the Ingush Council of Teips of provocation related to the statement on the lands on the border of both republics and announced his readiness to meet with opponents.

On the evening of November 21, Magomed Daudov reported that no representatives of the Ingush side came to the meeting to discuss the land dispute between the republics. On his Instagram page, the speaker of the Chechen parliament posted a video about his trip to the border with Ingushetia.

“I have been here since eleven in the morning. This is the Fortanga River flowing between our republics ... The time was agreed 10-15 days ago, and the place was also agreed. The topic is also not petty, the Sharia court. When a meeting was proposed to them, they agreed. The time has been appointed from the moment we make the lunch prayer until the afternoon prayer. It’s already ten or eleven minutes since the afternoon prayer has come,” said, in particular, the speaker of the Chechen parliament as translated from Chechen by the “Caucasian Knot”.

The video footage depicts that Magomed Daudov arrived at the Fortanga River bank with a delegation of several dozen people.
