At doctors' insistence, due to deteriorating of her tests, on the eighth day of her hunger strike, Elene Khoshtariya, the leader of the oppositional "Droa" Party, was made a blood transfusion.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in the morning on November 3, Elene Khoshtariya, the leader of the oppositional "Droa" (meaning "It's the Time!") Party, went on a hunger strike right in the parliament building, demanding to transfer Mikheil (Mikhail) Saakashvili, a former President of Georgia, to a civil hospital.

Doctors insisted on a blood transfusion for Khoshtariya due to the deterioration of her tests. "I feel well, but given the fact that my hunger strike can be long, and on doctors' advice, I decided to take the medical intervention," Ms Khoshtariya said at a briefing today, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
