Mikhail Saakashvili transferred to a prison hospital

A doctors’ council unanimously supported the decision to transfer Mikhail Saakashvili to a multifunctional clinic. The penitentiary service reported on the transfer of the former president of Georgia to a prison hospital.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that starting from October 1, Mikhail Saakashvili has been on the hunger strike in the prison in Rustavi. The former president of Georgia demands to release him. On November 7, a personal doctor of Mikhail Saakashvili reported that the patient’s health state was close to severe.

The council of five doctors overseeing the health state of Mikhail Saakashvili, the third president of Georgia, unanimously supported the need to transfer the patient to a multifunctional clinic. The health state of Mikhail Saakashvili deteriorated, and medical examinations revealed a number of deterioration in comparison with the previous days, while some other indicators improved.

According to the doctor, the council’s recommendation to transfer the patient to a multifunctional clinic implied a civil clinic, since prison hospitals did not meet the necessary requirements.

Mikhail Saakashvili was hospitalized to the Gldani prison hospital, the “InterPressNews” reported with reference to the Penitentiary Service. “In order to avoid deterioration of his health state and in connection with the increased danger, prisoner Mikhail Saakashvili was transferred from the 12th penitentiary institution to the Medical Institution for Defendants and Convicts No. 18,” the “InterPressNews” quoted the penitentiary service as reporting.
