Applicants for maroon berets from Chechnya give reason for criticism by Kadyrov's opponents

The incident at the Tambukan training centre is being actively discussed in social networks. Many commentators have linked the story about the dishonest struggle of Chechen fighters with the distribution practice of undeserved titles and awards widespread in the republic, while the 1ADAT outlet has treated the incident as law enforcers' desire to curry Kadyrov's favour.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported about the conflict that broke out among employees of the "Rosgvardiya" (Russian National Guard) during tests for obtaining maroon berets (signs of merit among special fighters) in the Stavropol Territory. The "Vityaz" fighters said that law enforcers from Chechnya received the berets, although they were removed from the test march for deception – their friends gave them a lift in cars during the test.

Many outraged comments appeared on the YouTube to the video about the receipt of maroon berets by Chechen law enforcers.

"It's a shame to devalue this award in such a way," the user Alexei Rzhevsky has written.

Many commentators have treated this story as a consequence of the country's high levels of corruption.

Earlier, social media users suggested organizing a video flash mob and expressing their opinion about the participants in the conflict from Chechnya, Caucasian law enforcers, who are deservedly wearing maroon berets.
