Festival of Ossetian pies attracts tourists to Vladikavkaz

Tourists from all over Russia came to the festival of Ossetian pies in Vladikavkaz; all the city hotels are occupied, the festival organizers have stated.

The festival is held within the celebrations of the Republic Day and the City Day marked on September 25 and 26, Ruslan Marzoev, the head of the culture department of the Vladikavkaz Local Self-Government Administration (known as AMC), told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to his story, the festival of Ossetian pies was conceived as a tourist event. It is planned to bake 6000 pies within two days.

Workshops, gastronomic areas, fairs of local producers, children's and sports grounds will work for these two days. There will be exhibitions of national clothes, folk crafts, modern and retro cars, as well as the Nart Games, an open city rapid chess tournament and other events.

For the first time, the region holds a festival of authentic and stylized ethnic costume "Ron". Collections of traditional clothes are presented by 18 masters and designers from the Southern Russia and other country's regions.
