Dagestani native sentenced to two years in prison for financing terrorism
Ibragim Toleshov has been sentenced to two years in prison for sending money to a member of a terrorist grouping in Syria, the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) has reported.
Toleshov is a native of Dagestan, the "Interfax" has clarified with reference to its source.
According to investigators, from December 2014 to March 2017, Toleshov was in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug-Yugra, in the city of Surgut, and in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, in the city of Novy Urengoy. During this period, he sent money to his acquaintance, a resident of Dagestan, knowing that he was participating in terrorist activities in Syria. At the latter's request, Toleshov transferred money to the indicated bank card numbers.
The "Caucasian Knot" has also reported that investigators found a resident of the Kayakent District of Dagestan involved in the transfer of 20,000 roubles that he had received from his brother to militants.
