CPRF observer beaten up in Anapa

In the evening of September 17, unidentified persons have beaten up Alexei Glimeido, an observer for the candidate for an MP from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF), after he left the territory of the Territorial Election Commission (TEC). Doctors recorded minor injuries; and the activist sent a complaint to the police.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in the evening on September 17, it became known that Rostislav Scherbakov, a proxy of the CPRF candidate, filed two complaints about violations during the voting in Anapa and was attacked at the exit from the polling station.

On September 17, after polling station No. 02-77 in Anapa was closed, and a safe with ballot papers was sealed up, the above Alexei Glimeido left the building of School No. 4. In a few hundred meters, unidentified assailants attacked him and beat him up, Dmitry Kolomiets, a deputy of the Krasnodar City Duma and a candidate for a Russian State Duma MP, has stated.

"The attack manner was the same as with Rostislav Scherbakov. The sportive-looking guys beat them on kidneys and on the head. The police accepted the applications, we are waiting for a reaction, as we need to find the attackers. Observers are performing their civic duty; they don't interfere and often know the legislation better than members of election commissions," Mr Kolomiets told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
