Soldier detained after shooting his colleagues in Armenia

A soldier is suspected of killing his colleague and wounding another while on duty at a combat position, and he is detained, the Investigative Committee of Armenia reports.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on September 14, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Armenia disseminated the information about the death of a soldier at a combat position in the south-eastern direction. According to the Armenian (MoD), another soldier was wounded during the incident.

A soldier was detained in the case on the death of one Armenian soldier and the injury of another colleague, the online edition “News.am” reported on the evening of September 14 with reference to the Investigative Committee of Armenia.

According to the investigators’ version, at about 10:00 p.m. on September 13, one soldier was shot dead, and the other got a gunshot wound at the combat position of the military unit. The criminal case was instituted. Investigators suspected a colleague of the soldiers in opening fire and killing them, and he was detained, the “News-Armenia” news agency reported on the evening of September 14 with reference to the Investigative Committee of Armenia.
