Victim expresses his indignation about closure of case against policeman in Chegem

An employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Kabardino-Balkaria got off with a fine for fabricating a criminal case against a relative. The court’s decision allows the law enforcer to continue working in the law enforcement agencies, a representative of the victim notes.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that the policeman became involved in a case as a suspect in February 2019. The victim was a relative of policeman Madin Gubzhokov.

According to the investigators’ version, the law enforcer illegally bought a rifle and cartridges, and in October 2018, he hid the weapon in the house of his relative. Being guided by a desire to improve his work performance, the law enforcer drew up a fictitious search protocol and persuaded his acquaintances to sign the document as attesting witnesses. However, Madin Gubzhokov managed to get the policeman prosecuted.

Azamat Kyov, a defendant, pleaded guilty in court. He stated that he repented of what he had done and had already made amends for the harm caused by the crime. At the same time, Madin Gubzhokov did not hear any apologies or proposals for material compensation, the human rights organization “Zona Prava” reported on Telegram.
