Boxer woman reproaches Dagestan fighter Nurmagomedov with sexism after his words about ring girls
It's high time for the Dagestani fighter, Khabib Nurmagomedov, to reconsider his outdated views, a Russian female athlete, Angelina Semyonova, said after his words about the uselessness of ring girls at MMA (mixed martial arts) tournaments.
Nurmagomedov has old mindset and vision regarding fights and life in general, Ms Semyonova believes.
"We've long been living in the 21st century. Women have the same rights as men," the "Gazeta.ru" has quoted Angelina Semyonova as saying. She has noted that MMA is a sports show, where ring girls are "like the crux on the biscuit."
It is time for the Dagestani fighter to depart from sexism to which he got accustomed in Dagestani mountains, "if he is going to live in the society," the woman asserts.
Angelina Semyonova is a MMA master, performing in MMA, Pankration, Brazilian jiu-jitsu and boxing, the "Sport Express" reports.
Earlier, Khabib Nurmagomedov spoke sharply about ring girls – the girls in bikinis who enter the ring with signs announcing numbers of boxing rounds.
"Ring girls ... is the most unnecessary thing in MMA fights," the "Chempionat" (Championship) edition had quoted Nurmagomedov as saying.
