Mothers of teenagers detained in Ingushetia call case on preparation of terror acts unexpected

Three out of the four residents of Ingushetia arrested on suspicion of plotting terror acts are minors, and the fourth suspect recently turned 18, the defence reports. Mothers of the detainees claim that their children did not give rise to suspicions of sympathy for terrorists.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that according to the investigators’ version, the detained residents of Sunzha were “adherents of a radical religious movement” and swore allegiance to the leader of the “Islamic State” (IS, a terrorist organization, banned in Russia by the court, – note of the “Caucasian Knot”), and two others agreed to help them find places for a terrorists’ camp.

Firearms and edged weapons, improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and incendiary devices were seized at the places of the detainees’ residence, law enforcers report.

A defendant’s mother said that her son was shocked when, during a search, law enforcers “began to find prohibited items.” The woman believes that the illegal items were planted to her son.
