Baku rejects accusations of death of Armenian soldier

Today, the Azerbaijani armed forces have not opened fire in the direction of the village of Yeraskh and have not been involved in the death of an Armenian soldier, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Azerbaijan reports.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that the Ministry of Defence of Armenia accused Azerbaijan of shelling attacks from firearms and small arms on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, in particular, in the area of the village of Yeraskh in the Ararat Region. As a result of the shelling attacks, soldier Gegam Saakyan got a fatal wound.

The information spread today by the Armenian side about the death of the Armenian soldier as a result of the shelling attacks from Azerbaijan does not correspond to reality, the Azerbaijani MoD claims. Today, the Azerbaijani army units have not fired in the indicated direction, the Azerbaijani MoD reports as quoted by the APA.

“Recently, official and unofficial representatives of Armenia have come out with unsubstantiated statements that allegedly the servicemen of the Azerbaijani army violate the ceasefire, start forest fires, steal cattle, and exert various pressure on villagers,” the Report agency quotes the Azerbaijani MoD as reporting.
