In Yerevan, police accumulate forces at place of a protest action

Relatives of the soldiers who disappeared in Nagorno-Karabakh have spent the whole night in front of the Armenian government building. Today, additional police forces have been drawn to the place of the protest action.

On August 26, about 60 relatives of the soldiers missing in action in the autumn war of 2020 in Karabakh gathered in front of the building of the Armenian government. The protestors believe that the authorities are not taking sufficient measures to find the soldiers missing in action.

On August 24, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that 243 people were considered missing as a result of the autumn war. However, Arsen Gukasyan, one of the participants in the today’s protest action, claims that he has made a list of 350 soldiers missing in action.

By morning, 30 protesters still stayed in front of the government building, activist Arsen Gasparyan told the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent.

On the air of the “1inTV” Channel, another participant of the protest action complained about the inaction of the authorities. “Ten months have passed. There is no news from our guys, and the authorities do not provide us with any information. We do not even know the exact number of those missing in action,” Gevorg Vardanyan said.

He has also noted that he did not stay in front of the government building overnight, but if necessary, he will stay there and will not go anywhere. “We have one requirement: find our children,” the man emphasized.
