Picket in support of citizens' suffrage is held in Karachaevo-Cherkessia
The Government House of Karachaevo-Cherkessia is surrounded by power agents who have blocked the adjacent square from the picketers who came there from the city of Karachaevsk.
About 200 residents of Karachaevsk have arrived to Cherkessk with the aim to draw the attention of the Republic's authorities to violations of electoral rights in Karachaevo-Cherkessia. The picketers had to settle in the public garden near the Republic's Government House, since power fighters have cordoned the central square located under the windows of the bureaucrats of Karachaevo-Cherkessia.
The people who have arrived to hold the picket represent the interests of Magomet Botashev, candidate to the post of Karachaevsk Mayor. They assert that "the election was recognized invalid with the aim to deprive Magomet Botashev who was a real winner of the opportunity to take the power."
In the meantime, the Supreme Court of Karachaevo-Cherkessia is considering a complaint of the voters who demand to recognize the Mayor's election in Karachaevsk valid and announce Magomet Botashev to be the winner.
