Weapon hiding discovered in Ingush village

A plastic canister with grenades, fuses, and cartridges was found in the village of Dattykh near the border with Chechnya. The canister presumably was hidden in the ground about six years ago, the Department for Ingushetia of the National Guard of Russia reports today.

All items were transferred for further checks to employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that the village of Dattykh was abandoned by residents after a shelling attack in 2015. In November 2018, the authorities of Ingushetia decided to revive the border village of Dattykh and announced the beginning of its restoration. The Prime Minister of Ingushetia came to the village amid the public confrontation over the change in the border with Chechnya and “set the task for the local authorities to draw up lists of former residents of the village of Dattykh ready to return.”
