Stepanakert authorities state drinking water deficit

Stepanakert, the capital of Nagorno-Karabakh, suffers from water supply outages. Due to the intense heat, rivers have dried up; and the stock of drinking water at purification facilities has decreased.

"Because of the hot weather, the rivers feeding Stepanakert became shallow; and the water supply reserves at purification facilities have decreased. This has caused water supply interruptions in some city districts," the Stepanakert Mayoralty wrote on the Facebook, adding that the administration is trying to promptly solve the problem.

Some commentators have criticized the officials.

"There are no living conditions; and you condemn those who leave. They do the right thing by leaving. In Karabakh, people have to stupidly survive, but not live. There is always no water, or electricity, or gas," Svetlana Akopyan has written.
