Affinity with Kadyrov’s friend helps Chechen law enforcer detained in Dagestan

On suspicion of illegal possession of firearms, a person may be detained for at least three days, but in the case of a Chechen law enforcer in Khasavyurt, his relationship with the Deputy Prime Minister of Chechnya played its role, veterans of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) suggested.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on August 4, a Chechen police squadron commander was detained in Khasavyurt. According to sources, he turned out to be a relative of Abuzayd Vismuradov, Deputy Prime Minister of Chechnya for the power bloc. The law enforcer was detained, because the police found a pistol with him. By August 5, the detained Chechen law enforcer had already been released.

Abuzayd Vismuradov is a childhood friend of Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov and his personal bodyguard.

According to sources, the pistol found with the detained law enforcer was not his service weapon, and that is a reason for an investigation, advocate Yevgeny Chernousov notes.

If the detained law enforcer is actually a relative of Abuzayd Vismuradov, then this is what influenced his release, believes Ruslan Kutaev, the president of the Assembly of Caucasian Nations.

There are signs of an attempt to hush up the case, notes Magomed Shamilov, the chairman of the Dagestani police trade union. Meanwhile, he suggests that the matter is not only in the family ties of the particular law enforcer, but also in relations between the republics.

According to Police Colonel Amir Kolov, the practice like the one applied in the case of the detained Chechen police squadron commander can lead to negative consequences. “Now not only law enforcers from Chechnya will come to the territory of Dagestan and do whatever they want, but also law enforcers from other regions,” Police Colonel Amir Kolov explained.
