Almost 90 mass wedding participants fined in Azerbaijan

In Azerbaijan, 89 persons who attended weddings have been fined for violating the quarantine restrictions; 2700 more people were not let to the celebrations because of absent of COVID-19 passports, the Azeri Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that since July 1, Azerbaijan has eased restrictions on holding weddings, engagements and birthdays. Now, up to 150 people can participate in such events, but the guests over 18 years old must have vaccination certificates or documents confirming the presence of antibodies to COVID-19.

On August 2, policemen checked the conditions for holding 288 wedding parties in Azerbaijan, the MIA's press service has reported.

As a result, 89 people were fined for violating the quarantine rules under Article 211 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (violation of the anti-epidemic, sanitary and hygienic, and quarantine regimes).

Because of absence of COVID-19 passports, 2736 people were not allowed to attend the celebrations, the APA reports today.
