Heydarabad residents go to agricultural work in spite of shelling attacks

Shootouts involving Armenian and Azerbaijani soldiers take place away from the Heydarabad town, and people go about their daily activities and gather crops without fear of being hit by shelling attacks, local residents says.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that today, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence (MoD) has reported that at night, Armenian soldiers fired at positions near the Heydarabad town in the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic (NAR), and the Azerbaijani armed forces opened return fire.

Today, the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent has been informed that the town of Heydarabad has not been shelled in recent days, a source from the executive administration of the Sadarak District, located in the town.

The shelling attacked an Azerbaijani army post located away from the village, but the situation is calm in the Heydarabad town itself, and local residents are busy with their daily activities, the official explains.

Faig Aliev, a native of the Heydarabad town, the head of the regional organization of the “Umid” Party, has confirmed the information to the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent today. “I myself have been in Heydarabad in recent days. For two nights, sounds were heard from afar, similar to shots. This is common situation for residents of Heydarabad. People do not react to something like that anymore,” the local resident said.

According to him, the shelling attacks from the Armenian side did not affect the agricultural work in the fields.
