Azerbaijan accuses Armenia of shelling on NAR border

Tonight, Armenian servicemen shelled the Azeri positions located near the dwelling settlement of Heydarabad of the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic (NAR). Azerbaijani militaries opened fire back, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence (MoD) has informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in July, tensions escalated on the border of the Ararat Region of Armenia and the NAR. Thus, on July 31, the Armenian MoD twice announced the shelling of its military positions located near the village of Eraskh.

Today, at about 3:27 a.m., Armenian militaries shelled, from their positions stationed near the village of Arazdeyen in the Vedi District (the Armenian name is the village of Eraskh of the Ararat Region), the positions of Azerbaijani troops in the direction of the village of Heydarabad from small arms, the Azerbaijani MoD has reported.

"There are no losses among the personnel of the Azerbaijani Army. The enemy was suppressed by the response fire. At present, the situation in this direction is stable," says the MoD's post.
