Kadyrov ignores criticism for expensive gifts

Residents of Chechnya criticize Ramzan Kadyrov for expensive gifts he makes to famous people, but the head of Chechnya had hardly expected to increase his personal popularity by giving a car to the blogger Khasbulla Magomedov. Kadyrov is indifferent to criticism of his generosity, even on the eve of elections, analysts believe.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that after the video appeared of Kadyrov's meeting with the blogger Khasbik (Khasbulla), YouTube users stated that the head of Chechnya granted expensive cars for the state budget money.

Kadyrov's promotion actions during the election campaign indicate that he is not afraid of voters' discontent and is confident in his victory, said Ruslan Kutaev, the president of the "Assembly of Caucasian Nations".

Kadyrov "is not financially burdened" and "can present at least ten Mercedes as gifts; and no one in Russia will tell him anything," the blogger Musa Lomaev believes.

"Khasbik is rather an image of an unusual person, with non-standard height and body, with a peculiar voice and demeanour ... His subscribers are people who need simple positive content and funny videos to watch them and not think about anything," said Milrad Fatullaev, the editor-in-chief of the "Derbent" News Agency.
