Peacemakers help return Karabakh shepherd from Azerbaijan

A resident of Nagorno-Karabakh, who got lost and ended up in the area controlled by Azerbaijan, has been returned from captivity through the intervention of Russian peacemakers, Gegam Stepanyan, the Ombudsperson of Nagorno-Karabakh, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent on July 22.

According to the Ombudsperson, the man is a little over 50 years old; he is a shepherd in his village and poorly knew the surrounding area, which is now controlled by Azerbaijan; therefore, he got lost.

"The incident occurred today (July 22) in the afternoon. Residents of the village of Khramort immediately reported, and Russian peacemakers got at once involved and began negotiations. In the evening the man was returned. According to preliminary data, no physical or bodily injuries were found in him," Mr Stepanyan has stated.
