Dagestani branch of ICRF summons girl who fled to Sweden after being forced to marry for questioning

The division of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) for the Buinaksk District has summoned for testifying the 18-year-old girl, who fled to Sweden after her relatives tried to force her to marry.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the girl who came to Dagestan from Sweden on June 23 to visit her relatives was forcibly kept in the house and forced to marry an unknown man, human rights defenders reported. After her relatives threatened to kill the girl, she left Russia.

The above ICRF division has summoned a girl who had fled to Sweden after her relatives tried to force her to marry, the human rights project "Legal Initiative"* reported on July 7 on the Facebook.

The girl is under the protection of Swedish police; she was forced to change her residence and does not leave her home, the “Open Media” edition reported in the evening on July 6.

The Swedish police are now deciding whether the girl will be able to appear in the media, the edition has reported with reference to Olga Gnezdilova, a lawyer of the "Legal Initiative"*.

*The organization has been included by the Ministry of Justice of Russia into the register of non-commercial organizations-foreign agents
