Nagorno-Karabakh’s Ombudsperson counts 750 perished in last autumn war
A total of 750 citizens of Nagorno-Karabakh, including 669 military servicemen and 81 civilians, perished during the aggravation of the Karabakh conflict in the fall of 2020, Gegam Stepanyan, the Ombudsperson of the unrecognized republic, has informed.
Among the perished civilians, 42 persons were killed by missile and artillery attacks and bombings; while 39 other persons perished in captivity, the “Armenianreport” quotes Mr Stepanyan as saying.
The Ombudsperson told that 163 civilians were wounded during the hostilities; while the exact number of wounded military servicemen has not yet been established, the “Panorama.am” edition has added.
According to Gegam Stepanyan, 83 residents of Nagorno-Karabakh, of which 23 are civilians, are considered missing. Of the 103 people who returned from captivity, 23 are citizens of Karabakh, he has added.
