Six Azerbaijani residents detained while trying to get to Kelbadjar District

Cases against six persons detained in Azerbaijan for attempting to enter the territory of the Kelbadjar District in spite of warnings about mine danger have been sent to court.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that law enforcers often detain residents for violating the ban on visiting the territories of Karabakh that came under the control of Azerbaijan. So, on June 12, five residents of the Kelbadjar District (the Armenian name is Karvachar District, – note of the “Caucasian Knot”) were detained. On June 27, the police detained four residents of the Tovuz District of Azerbaijan, who were trying to enter the territory of Karabakh.

“At the police department, inspectors held preventive conversations with the detainees concerning the danger of mines and explosives,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Azerbaijan reports.
