Authorities report about water supply to residents of Leninkent

Residents of the Makhachkala village of Leninkent are provided with regular supply of water, the district administration reports. The water supply has been interrupted because of a failure of a pump, which will be replaced in the coming days, officials report.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that during a gathering on June 24, local residents claimed that the village of Leninkent has been cut from the water supply for about ten days in connection with a pump failure. The villagers threaten the authorities with a protest action if the problem is not resolved in a short time.

The authorities of the Kirovsky District of Makhachkala, in which the village of Leninkent is located, have organized the supply of water, both technical and bottled, reports an employee from the press service for the district administration. The official has explained that the interruption in the water supply occurred because of the failure of the pump, which replacement is expected to be delivered within three days.

“The expensive pump has failed, and its replacement has already been purchased by the ‘Makhachkalavodokanal’ in Saint Petersburg. We have been informed that the pump will be delivered within 2-3 days. Until the water supply is restored, the headquarters will work in the administration of the village of Leninkent,” the press service officer told the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent.
