Dagestani residents oppose ban on mass worshiping

Dagestani believers have expressed the opinion that the ban introduced in the region on worshiping with the presence of people is unjustified, since most of the residents have had coronavirus, while another part has been vaccinated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 21, it became known that the Dagestani branch of "Rospotrebnadzor" (the Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing) had banned mass worshiping.

Murad, a resident of Makhachkala, is against the ban on collective prayers in mosques. If the ban is adopted at the level of mosque managers, then there will be no chance of visiting it during collective prayers, he has stated, noting that most of the republic's residents have had coronavirus and now are immune against it, while other Dagestanis have already undergone the vaccination procedure.

Suleiman, another Makhachkala resident, said that he would attend collective prayers in mosques, if possible, despite the ban imposed by the regional "Rospotrebnadzor". He believes that the restrictions on collective prayers introduced by the local "Rospotrebnadzor" are unjustified, since the republic is still holding other mass events. "If there was a complete ban on mass events, it would be understandable. I don't understand why they have first introduced the ban on collective prayers in mosques," Suleiman told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

In his opinion, with such bans, relevant agencies demonstrate a biased and one-sided approach to the fight against coronavirus.
