Pashinyan's party wins parliamentary elections in Armenia

The "Civil Contract" Party, headed by Nikol Pashinyan, the Acting Prime Minister, after the processing of all the ballot papers cast at the early elections to the Armenian parliament, has gained 53.92 percent of the votes, the country's Central Election Commission (CEC) has informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 20, the voting was held at more than 2000 polling stations within the framework of early parliamentary elections. Observers and human rights defenders have fixed attempts to bribe voters and violations in the work of election commissions.

According to the CEC, the voter turnout at early elections was 49.4%.

The Armenian CEC has counted all the ballots. The Nikol Pashinyan's "Civil Contract" Party has won 53.92% of the votes. The "Armenia" bloc of its key rival, Robert Kocharyan, has won 21.04% of the votes, the "News.am" has reported today with reference to the CEC of Armenia.

The third place was taken by the "I Have the Honour" bloc, which gathered 5.23% of votes. The "Prosperous Armenia" Party has won 3.96%, the "Enlightened Armenia" – 1.22% percent, and the Armenian National Congress – 1.54% percent, the "Sputnik Armenia" has reported today.
