During the war in Nagorno-Karabakh, the commander of a detachment of the Armenian Army and his acquaintance conveyed information about the armament and deployment of Armenian troops to Azerbaijani special services, the National Security Service (NSS) of Armenia has informed today.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 6, the Armenian General Prosecutor's Office (GPO) informed that 1580 criminal cases had been opened against 628 persons accused of crimes committed during the last autumn war in Nagorno-Karabakh, including treason cases.

The Armenian NSS has accused a former military serviceman and his acquaintance of spying for Azerbaijan, the TASS has reported today.

According to investigators, in the fall of 2020, during the hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh, the defendants transferred military and state secrets to Azerbaijani special services, including the data about the deployment of Armenian troops, military commanders of the Armenian and Nagorno-Karabakh Armies, as well as about the number of weapons, the "Sputnik Armenia" writes, adding that both defendants have already confessed; and arrest was chosen as a measure of their freedom restraint.
