Antidrug activists wounded at shooting in Malgobek

Two activists of the "Antilyrica" public movement were fired upon by drug dealers in Malgobek, relatives of the wounded persons have stated. The activists were hospitalized; the shooter was detained, the Ingush Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has reported.

According to the police, a resident of Malgobek and a resident of the village of Sagopshi tried to "inspect" a man's car, suggesting that it contained narcotic or psychotropic substances. In response, the driver opened fire at them from a traumatic pistol.

Instagram users have criticized the activists' actions.

"Who are they to inspect someone's car? Only policemen have the right to inspect cars; and there must be a reason for that," the user symrak111 believes.

The suffered activists are Magomed Gatagazhev, the head of the "Antilyrica" movement, and his cousin, their relatives have reported. According to their version, a son of a well-known district alcohol trader invited Magomed Gatagazhev to a meeting. When Gatagazhev and his cousin arrived, they got under automatic fire. The shooters were the two persons, who had been earlier caught by "Antilyrica" activists. The shooters were sheltered by a law enforcer, who, after the attack on the Gatagazhevs, shot himself in the leg to simulate an attack on him, the Instagram public news_ingushetii reports, referring to the victims' relatives.

According to law enforcers, in December 2020, armed "Antilyrica" activists kidnapped a car driver in Nazran.

By analogy with "Antilyrica", a movement to combat witchcraft has emerged in Ingushetia. According to unofficial information, it was involved in beating up two people in Magas and the shelling of their car in February.
