On May 24-30, 2021, no one fell victim to armed conflict in Northern Caucasus

During the week of May 24-30, 2021, no killed or wounded in the ongoing armed conflict in Northern Caucasus were reported. These are the results of the calculations run by the “Caucasian Knot” based on its own materials and information from other open sources.

On May 27, the FSB detained two men suspected of plotting terror acts on the territory of the Stavropol Territory. Components for making explosives were seized from both suspected supporters of the “Islamic State” (IS, a terrorist organization, banned in Russia by the court, – note of the “Caucasian Knot”). One of the detainees said he had bought some of the components for explosives on his own, and the rest had been delivered to him.

On May 25, the FSB reported about the detention in the Stavropol Territory of an IS supporter who was plotting a terror act in Norilsk. The suspect was detained after law enforcers found explosives and striking elements in a hiding he had arranged.
