Twenty Azerbaijani citizens returned from Syria
On May 27, Azerbaijani authorities returned six women and 14 children to their homeland. They had been kept in the Amerna Camp in the city of Djerablus in Syria, the "Apa" News Agency has reported today with reference to the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA).
The return of the Azerbaijani natives was ensured via Turkey. On May 26, they were examined by doctors, after which the Azerbaijani Embassy to Turkey issued them the return certificates and air tickets, the "Sputnik-Azerbaijan" has explained today.
The "Caucasian Knot" has also reported that on March 9, Azerbaijani authorities reported that from 2018 to the end of 2020, a total of 248 children were returned from Iraq. As of early 2020, the number of returned children was 194. Thus, in 2020, 54 minor citizens returned to Azerbaijan, the "haqqin.az" has reported.
