Four natives from Northern Caucasus detained in France

In the Lower Rhine Region, law enforcers detained three minor Chechen natives and one adult; they are suspected of preparing a terror act, French media have reported. The Russian Embassy to Germany is verifying this information.

The operation to detain four Russians in the Lower Rhine Region was conducted in the morning on May 26.

They were detained on suspicion of preparing a terror act, the France-Presse Agency has reported, citing court sources.

At least three of the detainees are natives of Chechnya; they are 16-18 years old, the France Info has reported, without specifying which Russian region the fourth detainee is from. All the detainees are suspected of preparing a terror act, the report says.

The Russian Embassy in Paris reported that they were checking the information about the detention of migrants from Russia in France.
