Yerevan female protester hospitalized after detention

Policemen used force against Zarui Postandjyan, the head of the "Apricot Country" Party detained at a protest in Yerevan; after her release, she was taken to the hospital with traumas.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 20, hundreds of activists who gathered at the building of the Armenian government opposed the signing of an agreement with Azerbaijan that had been announced by Pashinyan. The police counted 800 protesters. Nine of them were detained.

Nikol Pashinyan announced his intention to sign an agreement with Azerbaijan, but did not disclose the content of the document.

"Policemen, by using unlawful force ... detained Zarui Postandjyan, the head of the 'Apricot Country' Party, causing bodily harm to her. Ms Postandjyan's rights to the freedom of speech and assembly were also violated," the party's press service has reported, as the "Panorama.am" reports.
