Police suspect Pashinyan’s opponent of drug possession
The police found a yellow-green substance during a search of pockets of Sevada Gukasyan, a resident of the Tavush Region, who was detained while trying to lead a donkey to the building of the Armenian parliament.
The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on May 10, a resident of the town of Ijevan brought a donkey to the Armenian parliament and announced that he would used the animal to return Nikol Pashinyan to his hometown. The police did not allow the activist to approach the parliament building.
According to the press service for the Armenian police, an unidentified substance was found in Sevada Gukasyan’s pocket when he was taken to the police for failure to comply with the legal request of public officers. An examination has been appointed.
Let us remind you that opponents of Nikol Pashinyan regularly hold actions with the demand of his resignation. They believe he is responsible for the transfer of the territories of Karabakh to Azerbaijan in the autumn of 2020. On April 25, Nikol Pashinyan resigned, but continued to serve as the chair of the government.
According to an agreement between the ruling faction and the opposition, MPs were to reject twice Nikol Pashinyan’s candidacy for the post of the chair of the Cabinet of Ministers in order to launch the procedure for repeated parliamentary elections. On May 3 and May 10, the parliament rejected Pashinyan’s candidacy and was dissolved, while President Armen Sarkisyan signed a decree to schedule the parliamentary elections for June 20.
