Ingush Council of Teips opposes construction of tank training ground

Members of the Council of Teips (Family Clans) of Ingushetia have addressed Sergey Shoigu, the Russia's Defence Minister with a request not to place a military training ground in the territory of the republic.

Council members presented a number of circumstances that, in their opinion, impede the placement of the training ground in the republic.

Firstly, according to them, Ingushetia is the most land-poor subject of the federation; and the population density there is "incredibly high."

Council members have also noted that the construction of the training ground is supposed on the territory, which is "literally dotted with architectural and archaeological monuments." And thirdly, according to their story, the land allotted for the training ground is pasture and arable land; and for "the republic, which is experiencing an acute land shortage, the allotment of a large area for the training ground is a significant loss for the economy," the "Dosh" magazine writes.
