Source treats the man killed in Ingushetia as not linked with militants

The car driver shot dead by law enforcers in Nazran was not a militant, a law enforcement source has stated. Instagram users demand proofs that law enforcers had reasons to use firearms.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that a car driver was shot dead on April 28 in Nazran after he put up armed resistance to law enforcers. A source from the regional law enforcement bodies has stated that the casualty of the shootout had been a member of an illegal armed formation (IAF).

The driver who was killed while checking documents on the Maiskoye-Kantyshevo highway was wanted in connection with the use of violence against state officials, but "he hadn't taken part in IAFs," the "Fortanga" has reported today on its Telegram channel, citing a law enforcement source, who also added that there were two more persons in the car with the driver.

The message about the shot car driver has triggered outrage among social network users. They demanded proofs that law enforcers had reason to open fire. "Why was it necessary to shoot him dead instead of detaining and questioning?" the user bakaeva_06 has expressed her bewilderment. "There's an urgent need to (study) videos from cameras: what happened and how," the user nakhchoborz95 believes.
