Film about execution of workers in Novocherkassk awarded Nika Prize
The movie "Dear Comrades!" about the execution by shooting of Novocherkassk workers in 1962 has received the Nika Prize as the best feature film of 2020. Andrei Konchalovsky, a film director, and Yulia Vysotskaya, the starring actress, received the for Best Director and Best Actress Awards.
The Andrei Konchalovsky's film "Dear Comrades!" shows the shooting of workers at an electric locomotive repair factory in the city of Novocherkassk in June 1962 through the eyes of a local communist party functionary, who lost her daughter during the events. The actress, Yulia Vysotskaya, who performed the main role in the film, herself comes from Novocherkassk.
The Andrei Konchalovsky's film "Dear Comrades!" has become the best feature film of 2020 according to the Nika National Prize of Cinematic Arts and Sciences, the "Interfax" writes.
Besides, the film was awarded for the best direction; and Yulia Vysotskaya was awarded as the best actress, sharing the award with Chulpan Khamatova, who played the role of Elizaveta Glinka in the film "Doctor Lisa", the RBC reports.
