Residents of Ingushetia tell about law enforcers' checks
In the evening on April 6, law enforcers completed their special actions in the Sunzha District; the mobile Internet disconnected for the time being was restored only on Wednesday morning, local residents have informed. According to unofficial information, the checks had to do with the case initiated after the rally in Magas.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 6, law enforcers' equipment was deployed in the streets of the Sunzha District in order to check people's documents. Locals complained that they were not told what was happening.
"As far as I know, they were looking for someone who was associated with the rally [on March 26, 2019, in Magas]," said a local resident.
According to a source of the "Ingushetia" Internet newspaper, the search took place in the Galaevs' house.
Last fall, Tagir Galaev, a resident of Ingushetia, was detained in connection with the rally in Magas.
Tagir Galaev was arrested after searches on September 30, 2020; and for almost a month and a half, his relatives did not know about his whereabouts. Then, human rights defenders found him at the Nalchik SIZO (pre-trial prison). Galaev denied the charges of using violence against law enforcers.
