Employees of event industry take part in a protest in Batumi

In Batumi, presenters, photographers, cameramen, and musicians held an action in front of the building of the Adjara government. They demanded permission to hold mass events.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in Georgia, the opposition, activists, and businessmen have repeatedly held rallies with the demand to weaken the restrictions imposed because of the coronavirus epidemic. Since March 1, the country allowed restaurants to operate indoors, except on weekends. Gyms, theatres, and resorts have been operating since March 15. The restrictions will be imposed again if residents and tourists do not comply with the coronavirus prevention measures, the authorities warn.

The "Rustavi-2" TV Channel reports that several dozen activists employed in the event industry complain they have been staying without income for a long time, while they have loans from banks. The activists demand from the authorities to announce when mass events will be allowed in the region.

The protesters also complained that, because of the coronavirus restrictions, they have to work secretly: to organize events in certain places, in houses, and they had to pay fines. In case the authorities do not respond to the request for a meeting, the activists threaten to block one of the roads.
