Mekhman Guseinov announces a new investigation into corruption in Azerbaijan
The journalistic investigation, during the aerial filming for which two activists were detained in the vicinity of Baku, is focused on the activities of a top-ranking official employed by a state-owned company, which receives construction contracts, blogger Mekhman Guseinov reports.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 14, journalist and blogger Mekhman Guseinov and Ulvi Gasanli, an activist of the movement "Nida", were detained in the vicinity of Baku, where they were engaged in the aerial filming for the journalistic investigation. The police set the detainees free after questioning, but seized the drone with which the aerial filming was conducted.
Today, blogger Mekhman Guseinov has reported that his trip to the village of Novkhany was connected with a new investigation into the facts of corruption among top-ranking officials.
"My new investigation is related to an official, the head of a state-owned company, which receives large construction contracts. Meanwhile, the activities of the company are not transparent at all. So far, I don't want to disclose the names of the official and the company," Mekhman Guseinov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
