Coordinator of Navalny's office announces investigations about Dagestan

Ruslan Ablyakimov has informed that he needs medical treatment after the attack on him in Makhachkala. He has announced that he will return to Dagestan and present investigations about the republic.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Ruslan Ablyakimov, an activist, was attacked in Makhachkala at night on February 20. He linked the incident with the announcement of the opening in Makhachkala of the office of the opposition politician, Alexei Navalny. However, activists have failed to find premises for the office in the capital of Dagestan. Ablyakimov has left the republic, noting that he has not yet abandoned the idea of opening of Navalny's office.

The attack was not without consequences, Ruslan has stated today. "After that evening, my nose is spontaneously bleeding from time to time. It hurts to throw my head back – my neck hurts a lot," the activist wrote in his Instagram page.

The activist has also said that if the office is opened in Makhachkala, "the staff will face constant beatings and threats," and, therefore, they decided to change their tactics. "You will soon see good investigations about Dagestan; for me it's now a matter of honour and principle. I'll definitely return to the republic. We'll continue fighting and shall win," Ruslan Ablyakimov has written.
