On February 8-14, no information was received about any victims of armed conflict in Northern Caucasus

During the week of February 8-14, 2021, no information was received about any casualties or wounded persons in the ongoing armed conflict in Northern Caucasus. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from other open sources.

Detentions

On February 12, the residents of the Stavropol Territory, Arifulla Avezov and Akhmet Terekbaev, were detained by employees of the "Rosgvardia" (Russian National Guard), Russian FSB (Federal Security Bureau) of and ICRF (Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation). According to investigators, in mid-July 1999, Terekbaev and Avezov voluntarily joined the armed grouping led by Shamil Basaev and Emir Khattab, and took part in the 1999 attack on Dagestan. Terekbaev and Avezov are charged with the following articles of the Russia's Criminal Code: Article 317 "Attempted Assassination of a Military Serviceman", Part 2, Article 209, "Banditry", and Article 279 "Armed Rebellion".
