Activists report detentions at protest action in Yerevan

Today, members of the "Dashnaktsutyun" Party went out to a protest rally in Yerevan demanding the resignation of the government. Law enforcers brought dozens of protesters to police stations, activists report.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that after signing the peace agreement on November 9 2020 by the parties in Karabakh conflict, the Armenian opposition held numerous protest actions demanding the resignation of Nikol Pashinyan, the Premier. Thus, on January 11, 2021, oppositionists blocked the road to the Yerevan Airport to prevent Pashinyan from flying to Moscow for negotiations on Nagorno-Karabakh.

"Dozens of participants in the peaceful action in central Yerevan were detained without explanations," the "News.am" quotes the message of the "Nikol Agbalyan" Students' Union under the "Dashnaktsutyun" Party.

Taron Gazaryan, the head of the Students' Union, and Aik Manukyan, a "Dashnaktsutyun" activist, were also taken to the police station.
