Action of Inal Djabiev's relatives in Tskhinvali lasts for two months

Participants of the round-the-clock action organized by the widow and mother of Inal Djabiev, who died after being interrogated by the police, stay in the square in Tskhinvali for 60 days already.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Inal Djabiev died after being interrogated by the police under the case of an attempt on the life of Igor Naniev, the head of the local Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA). In context of Djabiev's death, eight policemen were detained; and Andrei Tskhovrebov, Naniev's deputy, was removed from his post. Djabiev's relatives are unhappy with the progress of the investigation. In January, Oksana Sotieva, Imal's widow, headed the movement in defence of South-Ossetians' rights entitled "Law. Justice. Inal Djabiev", which aims to restore justice and legality in the region.

"Exactly for two months, since December 4, 2020, in the central square of Tskhinvali, a protest action organized by Inal Djabiev's family is being held," says the m_arzu_official community on the Instagram, which has 7024 subscribers.

After the tragedy, tension is clearly felt in the society, the message says. "And since then ... nothing has changed. The work of the parliament is still actually blocked; the government has not been formed; and all those in charge of Inal Djabiev's death have not been officially identified," the message concludes.
