Over the past 24 hours, more than 130 refugees returned to Stepanakert
The peacemakers have accompanied a group of 131 refugees from Armenia to Nagorno-Karabakh. The total number of residents who have returned to the region has reached 50,521, the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) has informed.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that by the morning of January 22, the total number of residents who had returned to Nagorno-Karabakh with the support of Russian militaries had reached 50,390 persons; and over the past 24 hours, 87 more refugees returned to Stepanakert.
Now, over the past 24 hours, 131 more refugees returned from Armenia to Nagorno-Karabakh, making the total number of returnees to the region since November 14, 2020, with the support of Russian militaries, 50,521 people, the Russian MoD reported in the evening on January 22 on its website.
Also, demining works continue in the territory of the unrecognized republic. In total, during the peacemaking mission, sappers have cleared of explosives 600 hectares of land and about 217 kilometres of roads, the MoD has noted. "In total, 23,785 explosive objects have been neutralized," the MoD has specified.
