Djabiev's widow criticizes authorities' version of beating Totrov

South-Ossetian authorities have tried to blame the opposition for the attack on the journalist, Ruslan Totrov, in Vladikavkaz, the widow of Inal Djabiev has stated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 21, Ruslan Totrov, a blogger and a journalist of the "OsNova" edition, was attacked at his workplace in Vladikavkaz: his two teeth were broken, and his lip was smashed. Totrov said the attackers had claimed they were dissatisfied with his critical publications about the South-Ossetian president. Republic's authorities have assumed that the attack on Totrov was a provocation organized by the opposition.

Oksana Sotieva, Inal Djabiev's widow, has condemned the beating of the North-Ossetian journalist, Ruslan Totrov.

"We are outraged by the attack on the Russian journalist Ruslan Totrov, who always defends his independent position. State officials once again habitually blame the opposition of everything," Ms Sotieva told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
