Over past 24 hours, more than 180 refugees returned to Stepanakert
Peacemakers have escorted a group of 187 refugees from Armenia to Nagorno-Karabakh, making the total number of returnees 50,303 persons, the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) has informed.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 20, 2021, the Russian MoD reported that during the peacemaking mission in Nagorno-Karabakh, a total of 50,116 residents of the unrecognized republic returned to their places of permanent residence.
Now, with peacemakers' support, another group of 187 refugees has returned from Armenia to Nagorno-Karabakh; and the total number of returnees has reached 50,303 persons, the Russian MoD reported on its website in the evening on January 20.
The MoD has set up a special centre in Stepanakert, where relatives of the missing persons can apply. The search for them is being conducted by peacemakers together with the staff of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), as well as by Azerbaijani and Armenian rescuers, the MoD noted in another press release. "In total, more than 2,320 people have turned to the above centre for help," the report says.
Let us remind you that the full-scale combat actions took place in Nagorno-Karabakh in the period from September 27 to November 9, 2020. The "Caucasian Knot" has released a map marking the deployment of peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh.
