NAC updates Kadyrov's data on number of killed militants

Five suspected militants were killed in a special operation, the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC) reports today. All participants of the counterterrorist operation (CTO) in Chechnya will be nominated for state awards, announces Russian President's press secretary Dmitry Peskov today.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Ramzan Kadyrov announced the killing of six suspected militants led by Aslan Byutukaev during the special operation conducted on the outskirts of the Katar-Yurt village.

Five suspected militants, including Aslan Byutukaev, the leader of the militant grouping, were killed during the special operation, the NAC has clarified today. Aslan Byutukaev was involved in the terror act committed by a suicide bomber at the Domodedovo Airport in 2011, as well as in other terrorist crimes, the TASS reports with reference to the NAC.

Today, Russian President's press secretary Dmitry Peskov has reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov and other participants of the special operation in Chechnya with the elimination of the militant grouping led by Aslan Byutukaev. "The CTO engaged units of the National Guard of Russia and the operational regiment of the Chechen Republic, and Ramzan Kadyrov also personally participated in the special operation. All of them, as the Russian President said, will receive state awards," announced Dmitry Peskov as quoted by the "Interfax. Military News Agency".

Aslan Byutukaev was on the wanted list for a long time, the press secretary for the Russian President emphasizes. "We are talking about the so-called 'last Emir of Chechnya,' a well-known terrorist, who has been wanted for a long time," the RIA "Novosti" quoted Dmitry Peskov as saying.
